There was a time when her face would appear the moment television screens were switched on. Dramas, telefilms and advertisements—she was a familiar presence everywhere. We’re talking about Tanjin Tisha. Though she is seen less frequently now, whenever she appears on screen, she offers the audience something different.
Tanjin Tisha was recently seen at an awards ceremony on Friday. With her neat appearance, confident smile and mature outlook, she appeared as a more refined artiste. There, she spoke about her current philosophy of work, saying she prefers quality over quantity.
She said, “I don’t want to do more work—I want to do quality work.” According to her, that outlook reflects experience, dedication and emotional growth over time.
Tisha added that actors often work on many projects each year, but if even one project leaves a lasting impression on the audience, that itself is a success. She described the web film Ghumpori as such a project, saying she discovered something new about herself while working on it.
Released on 20 February, Ghumpori received praise from viewers for its fresh story and her on-screen chemistry with Pritom Hasan. The impact of the project, she says, still stays with her.
Tisha explained that she no longer focuses on the number of projects she takes on. If she does not connect with a story, she prefers to decline it. She carefully plans, internalises the character, and only then agrees to a project.
She said she aims to work less but create memorable performances. Expressing satisfaction with her recent Eid projects, she added that she hopes audiences will appreciate the quality of her work as well.
